I’ve noticed that all too frequently that most car sites (not just Oppo) and car people rant about certain cars they love, and I look at them and think “meh.” I’ve also noticed I’m not the only person that does this; type Volvo 240 into search and read some comments. There’s usually that guy, who rambles on about top speed and acceleration and real world driving dynamics and ability to make it across a railroad crossing and blah blah blah. Anyway, these are some popular cars which I aren’t a fan of. Feel free to tell me why I’m wrong in the comments because I know you will anyway and by typing this I can pretend I have some control over the internet.

This is the car that Patty and Selma from The Simpsons should drive instead of a VW Thing

I wouldn’t kick any of these out of my garage (besides the hideous fourth gen Camaro), but non of these would be must haves either. What are some of your “meh” cars Oppo?

Lamborghini. Ferrari. Range Rover. They do nothing for me. They scream wealth, status, and privilege. I’ll continue saving my pennies for an MGB or something else old, British, and mechanically unsound.

I was able to understand how some people wouldn’t like x car until the blasphemy about the 240z. Also esprit turbo, but mostly the datsun.
Also e39 = 5 series; e38 = 7-series. You picture the e39 so I’m assuming that’s what you meant.

Honda. S2000 is neat but nothing else really jumps out or is performance oriented. Right now the quickest car they have, the Civic Type R... is FWD... pass...
Also, modern VWs - meh. Air-cooled ftw.

Yeah, I really don’t know my ‘90s BMW internal codes very well.
I get the 240Z, but I personally wouldn’t buy one. Just IMO.

The Joel Schumacher Batman movies make sense if you look at them not as sequels to the Burton films but as Batman movies within the universe of the Burton films.
Because the Burton universe was so dark, people within it would need to have some silly bullshit like a bat suit with nipples to distract them from the world. Also, in the Burton films, Billy Dee Williams played Harvey Dent. In the Schumacher movies it was Tommy Lee Jones and Hollywood has a history of whitewashing.

I agree with many of the cars on your list. I’ve driven a Volvo 240 (owned two of them), 996 turbo, 3rd and 4th-gen F body, Gallardo, and an Integra GS-R (not a type R though) and have to agree with most of your list.
The 996 Turbo was an amazing machine.
Gallardo is cramped and garish I’d take an F430 over it any day.
4th gen F body is fun in a stupid and silly sort of way.

I’m not big on the luxury status-y brands, even when they have sporting chops: Lambo (dude), Ferrari, Maserati. I guess I don’t feel this way about McLaren for some reason. But really, I don’t have the expectation of ever driving any of them, so I can’t really like or dislike them, can I?
I think the C5 and C6 Corvette look 90s gross, but it wouldn’t stop me from owning one. Barely. I always hated the C3 styling also. C2 is gorgeous, C4 is good-looking too. C7, meh.
I never really got the value proposition on WRX/STI. I was on a Subaru lot once looking at the BRZ, and I sat in a used WRX. Then I looked at the sticker, and had a WTF reaction. Unless you’re rallying or something, why not just GTI? was my reaction. Though I could see getting an early one and building it.
In general, I manage to find things to respect about most enthusiast cars (and decent cars more broadly), whether or not I would buy one myself.
